Asteri

The Asteri is the Tribe that owns the western area of the territory. It was formed when a trio of wolves many years ago collided with another group (the Ilios) both stunned and tense for a moment, it faded away into nothing but curiosity. The 6 traveled until they came to a lush land found a lone wolf with a people tribe. The wolf declared the group represents the Asteri "Star" and the Ilios "sun" - two opposites that need one another to survive. The two sides of balance.

Each tribe grew fast, they formed traits, myths, celebrations and much more. Many they shared, some unique to a specific tribe.
The Asteri wolves grew stronger, slightly larger in size than their sister wolves. Perhaps it was because there genes insisted upon this due to bison being their primary food source. Muscles compacted with energizing athleticism riddled their bodies. They seemed to love to push their bodies limits. They would climb slanted trees, jump Boulder to Boulder, spar regularly, anything that might even pose a challenge to them, the tried.
It was as if the could read each other's bodies, able to see the next strike before the opponent knew they were even going to make it. The Asteri are often known to be "intimidating", this trait makes them prideful. Rarely starting fights is another thing about them, they know they are talented in battle, meaning they don't wish to hurt a non-Asteri and/or they don't wish to hurt or lose to a fellow Asteri wolf. However there are times a challenge is posed and they must use their skills. The Asteri never understood why others insist on a quarrel, perhaps it's the fact that they're hard to offend, they don't show interests that much in such things and it may offend others. Yet when challenged, an Asteri will surely put the other in their place and remind them who the skilled fighters are.

There is a famous myth that states the Asteri have gifted, booming howls. It's no where near ordinary, these echoing songs range through both lands and into the outskirts. You can hear this from miles away, as if they were in the same area as you. No one is sure why this happens, some say the lakes and rivers in Asteri land have star dust, and this results in deeper, louder howls. Others say it's a gift from the Star goddess for their loyalty and devotion. Maybe it's just a tall tale and no such thing happens, would you like to find out?

One celebration the Asteri have, is the Star Festival. Ilios wolves often join in the festivities as well. This is the time of year the moon is closest to the earth, often late Autumn/Early winter. This is the time of year the wolves celebrate their devotion to the goddess of the night. With the moon at its brightest peak, the Asteri (and participating Ilios) travel to retrieve a lunar rock. Gathering at the lake, the group will form a line structure with the fragments. With the luminous moon as well as the reflecting light from the water, the lunar rocks will form a small Aurora Borealis. The tribes with five gifts, share blessings, tell stories, and enjoy one anther all night into the run rises. At dawn a feast will be held and all the next day, they will rest to regain energy. (full description of Star Fest will be in Ceremony/Festival thread)
